EXITS
FAMILIES

During the year, we organize several family outings. In summer, families enjoy a day outdoors in the Granby Zoo and in Wonderland. In the fall, they pick apples and squash at the Squash Interpretation Center. In the spring, they feast on the sugar shack. Other outings are possible but all depend on the parents' involvement in fundraising activities. Suggestions for other outings are also welcome as far as possible.

CAFES-MEETING

These meetings make it possible to meet the different information needs of parents, identified by them. They facilitate involvement and exchanges between parents. Five themes are planned each year: The Quebec school system - Preparing your child for his first schooling - The autonomy of children in preschool - Sleep in children - Family communication. The themes are proposed by the parent-members and meet their needs perfectly. We are open to any suggestions regarding new topics.

This workshop is intended for parents of children aged 3-5 who would like to act effectively as partners committed to the academic success of their children. Every Thursday, children learn to identify colors and color pictures, repeat simple songs that deal with different themes, make motor games by associating shapes, listen to tales or even do DIY, while using simple words from the French language. Parents who are in another room are made aware of certain benchmarks to develop in their children before entering kindergarten.

For this workshop, we are requesting the financial contribution of the Foundation of Greater Montreal and

from the Fondation Actions Enfance .

READING AND WRITING WORKSHOPS
Parent-child stimulation workshops

These parent-child play groups help stimulate children's development and socialization. They also allow parents to acquire knowledge and techniques for learning through play. They promote exchanges between families and thus facilitate their integration into Quebec. We also take this opportunity to publicize the resources of the neighborhood.

At the start of each meeting, there is free play time, then follow the songs in French, reading from 2 to 4 stories, games to develop gross motor skills (jumping, ball and balls, parachute, dance, race , etc.) and a DIY that children do with their parents (development of fine motor skills). And finally a healthy snack for young and old. The 8 weekly meetings are offered in French and English. For children, this activity stimulates their development, their learning and creates a great space for discussion and bonding with their parent.

These workshops support parents in their parenting role, provide them with knowledge and information on different aspects of their children's development and education. But also, to facilitate exchange, mutual aid and understanding between parents. Also promote socialization, harmonious development and the well-being of children

Y A Person of Perfect (YAPP) are 2 series of 8 meetings each which allow parents to appropriate knowledge and practical information on the different aspects of the education of their young children aged 0 to 5 years and to discuss of their concerns. The parent group meets once a week, supported by a trainer from the Center for Educational and Teaching Resources of the Montreal School Board, as well as various resource people, depending on the needs expressed. These workshops are a space in which the parents' expertise is recognized, supported and valued. The participating parents receive various information documents on the child's development. Children learn to share, socialize and develop their cognitive skills.

The Parents' Association provides an educator who takes care of the children during the activity. It is an important respite for parents and often a first step in socializing children. Two series of meetings are offered during the year.
